Kurokage was also the one who saved one of our precious Ninja girls, since he stopped a clash between Asuka and Yumi, which could've killed one of them.ĭuring the Estival Versus story line, Yumi is set on seeing Kurokage once more before she leaves the Millennium Festival. While Hanzo is respectable in some areas, I honestly like Kurokage for the short amount of time he was around. He was the old, battle-scarred Shinobi who's seen too much, and I'd take him over Hanzo any day. Kurokage is what we expected Hanzo to be, a character who sadly didn't last long. Although this is to be expected, since is she on the older side of the Elite Shinobi. When it comes to her team, she is much like Katsuragi, who is the "Big Sister" type. I am unsure of what happened to her parents, but she was taken in by Kurokage, like Murakumo. (This section might be a little pointless, but I'll try my best.) Another cute thing about her, is that in a lot of her art, you will see her with a glass of shaved ice, which sometimes ends up cream down in her breasts. Going back to something I mentioned before, Yumi learns that she one day wants to be a wife, which is understandable, especially for a character of her personality. Her character at face value can be cold and harsh, but we all know these types of girls are top tier waifu material. "Asuka, you are like a shining sun, always so bright.īut even the sun sets, and allows for the cool night to take over." This is not completely word for word, but it's close enough to what she said.
Although she wins in the end, Yumi has a funny comment to add once Asuka's left. One of the Shinobi Girls' Hearts missions in Estival Versus is a short where Asuka is challenged her position as the main character. If you played Estival Versus, (Or any of the games, to be honest.) you will know that Asuka is aware that she is the main character of the series. Just make regular characters, dammit!)Īnother interesting thing about Yumi. When you watch Marvel trailers nowadays, it seems like every single character they make has some kind of tragic, or "sympathetic" backstory.
SENRAN KAGURA YUMI SERIES
(Man, is no character allowed to have a regular background, anymore? I realize that this series started some time ago, but seriously. Looking into her backstory, she is one of the girls that Kurokage took under his wing, which seems to be the trend for quite a few of the Gessen Elites. (Except for Murakumo, who is a sweet little cinnamon bun, at least when she's not wearing her mask.) She's also the straight arrow for her team, compensating for their bullshit. This can be seen in oppurtune moments within the series, like when she set out to find out that she wanted to be a wife. Yumi is the oh so common "Ice Queen" at first, but eventually she lightens up. I don't know about the "Spring" part, but I definitely know the "Snowy" is accurate.
